I kept hitting the same wall: to save a stream you had to find the .m3u8 in DevTools and then hand it the right cookies, or you got 403s.

So I embedded the browser instead. Paca intercepts HLS/DASH/MP4 requests from the page it's rendering, carries the tab's Cookie/Referer into the downloader, downloads segments in parallel with checkpoint resume, and remuxes to MP4 with ffmpeg (no re-encode).

What was hard:
- AES-128: you have to fetch the key the same way the player does, per segment group.
- Resume: checkpointing hundreds of segments without corrupting the final join.
- Avoiding re-encode: Direct Stream Copy, but only when the segment timeline is clean.

It's a Windows desktop app (WPF + WebView2). Free, no telemetry.
